Rols comes from a long family tradition of 4 generations: established in 1917, using a manual loom to weave natural fibres such as sisal. Today, the great-grandchildren have joined the family business and are adding to their great history of excellence by pushing modern design and sustainability boundaries. When Rols invited us to be the first of their guest designers for their new Editions range, we jumped at the chance to combine our knowledge, learn from each other, and create a colourful collection. Inspired by the timeless beauty of our planet, but also our joint commitment to its care. Each rug in the 'Strata' collection is made from yarn created from post- consumer PET - recycled plastic from recovered fishing nets and PET plastic bottles - without ever losing focus on the quality that Rols has come to represent.
